Dear Applicants,

The Honorary Fire Chief Committee will receive applications until midnight on December 31st, 2024. If enough applicants apply, contestants will compete in a business/evening attire pageant that will be held in the social hall of the fire station on January 4, 2025, beginning at 7:00 p.m. The titles of Miss Stephens City Honorary Fire and Rescue Chief and Miss Stephens City Honorary Fire and Rescue Chief First Runner-Up will be announced following the contest. Applicants will be notified of their final slot via email.

Qualifications for Miss Stephens City Honorary Fire and Rescue Chief:

•  Must be a resident of the firefighting district for the fire company or a member of the fire company;
•  Applicant must be between the ages of 16 and 21 years of age on or before May 1, 2025*;
•  Applicant must be unmarried and have never been married, nor had her marriage annulled*;
•  Applicant must not be pregnant nor have any children*.

Expectations of Miss Stephens City Honorary Fire and Rescue Chief:

•  The winner will be formally crowned at the company’s annual awards banquet on February 1st, 2025. Social Hour begins at 5:00 p.m. with the program beginning at 6:00 p.m. followed by awards and dance;
•  The winner must participate in the Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival’s Miss In-Town and Out–of–Town Miss Honorary Fire and Rescue Chief contest.
•  Miss Stephens City Honorary Fire and Rescue Chief is required to ride with the company in the Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival’s Fireman’s Parade on May 2, 2025;
•  All of the county’s Honorary Fire and Rescue chiefs are invited to represent their companies at the Firefighter’s Reception on May 2, 2025, at 6:00 pm at the Millwood Station Event Center;
•  Miss Stephens City will also ride on a float in the Grand Feature Parade on May 3, 2025;
•  Applicant may also participate in parades, open house, and other public events with the company.

Note: The company will provide an escort for the honorary fire chief for the in-town contest, and further information on all of the events mentioned above will be given to the winner when details become available.
